Hot Toddy (Whiskey)

Now that the flu season is here, Hot Toddy is becoming a frequent go-to drink to cure colds, warm yourself up or simply enjoy a delicious hot drink with the extra treat of some Scottish Whiskey. This drink offers a little liquid hug in a glass, regularly enjoyed throughout Scotland for a little dose of comfort for those long, cold dark nights – who couldn’t use a little dose of comfort? Take a look at our lovely simple recipe on how to make a Scottish hot toddy for you to try in the comfort of your own home:

Ingredients (per drink)

35ml of Pulteney 12 year old Scottish Whiskey (BuyHere)

1 tbsp Honey

100ml – 200ml of boiling water

Cloves

One lemon

Sugar

Optional

Stick of cinnamon

Star anise

Method

Boil a kettle of hot water, whilst boiling combine the whiskey and honey together. Once the kettle has boiled add the hot water and cloves and stir gently until completely combined. Add a splash of fresh lemon juice, to taste. Removed the cloves then garnish with a slice of lemon and a cinnamon stick.
